Any speedometer 2.1 results yet?People have been wondering about M3 Pro benchmarks, so here are mine, the 16" 36gb ram with the 12/18 M3 Pro.
By the way, the black is fantastic and really resists fingerprints

Awesome , thanks.
latest Sonoma '14.1' also the Amorphous disk bench can be a little higher, or a little lower each time I try, just ran it now (while typing this) and I got 6877/4580, that was my main worry, so again pretty good.Awesome , thanks.
Also, did your m3 pro come with Ventura or Sonoma? Or maybe its just the m3 models that are coming with 13.5
With the M2 Pro's the 512ssd was hobbled with slower single NAND chips: https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/202...have-slower-ssd-performance-than-m1-versions/ but that seems to not be a problem this time. That’s the same model that I ordered and expect delivery today. I’m curious though what does the size of the SSD have to do with the speed of the device? Sorry, I’m sure it is super obvious but fairly new to Mac. Are we saying 1 TB is faster?
My M3 Pro also came with Sonoma 14.1Awesome , thanks.

That's good to know. From what it looks like and from pictures ive seen, the m3 chips are coming with 13.5 and the pro Chips are on 14.1.My M3 Pro also came with Sonoma 14.1
It’s probably timing of device readiness to be shipped out. May be Apple had M3 Laptops loaded and ready to ship well before the Pro chips. That's good to know. From what it looks like and from pictures ive seen, the m3 chips are coming with 13.5 and the pro Chips are on 14.1.
Hopefully the Max chips (which I went for) also come with 14.1
It all sounds odd because the operating system is stored on the ssd's not the processors
Is your 16-inch M3 Pro still running macOS 14.1 build 23B2073, or is it updated to 23B2077? If it's not updated, I'd like you to dump the operating system for it, since it's not available for download from Apple. that $1999 version is looking like the way to go in terms of value. (edit: for CPU perf at least)
That's great to hear. And there I was contemplating whether to upgrade to 1 TB for faster speeds even though I didn't need the storage. With the M2 Pro's the 512ssd was hobbled with slower single NAND chips: https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/202...have-slower-ssd-performance-than-m1-versions/ but that seems to not be a problem this time.

Thanks.p.s. I realise I probably should have put this in the Arm section, sorry!
