When I open HDR videos on Safari it only shows me the standard SDR quality options, but whenever I use Chrome I can use HDR and it looks significantly better. Is there a way to get Safari to work with HDR, or is it only possible with Chrome and other browsers?

My guess (and it's ONLY "a guess") is that Safari doesn't support HDR (at least not on the MBP that you have).

In that case, I'd use whatever browser works...
(and let it go at that...)

I've found the cause of the issue, and it's just Youtube/Google forcing Safari users to use Chrome. But some people are saying they have no issues.
