Is it a 13" Pro? The SATA cables in the 2010 to 2012 are known to degrade over time and the issue often arises when going from a mechanical drive to an SSD.

BTW, there is not OEM Apple SSD for the 2011 MacBooks.

A 2011 MacBook Pro?
What SIZE display does it have?

Audit's mention of the drive cable may also be relevant.
Sometimes, if the drive connecting cable has deteriorated, it will still work ok with a platter-based drive, but put an SSD in there and... doesn't work.
