So I just got my MB 2.0ghz white from the apple store and i must say I am extremely impressed. It is everything i could ask for and I even prefer it over the 17inch MBP!

First off the keyboard! They keyboard has a very unique feel in my opinion. I dont think to say its basically a MBP keyboard with spaces instead of rounded corners is accurate. This thing looks and feels different from anything I have ever used and I must say, it is probably the best keyboard for a laptop ever (aside from the fact that the arrows are quite small and a little difficult to use). I do however have small-med sized hands and so I cannot speak for someone with larger fingers!

The screen! The screen is gorgeous and i find myself having to adjust it more so for colour saturation as a result of its extreme brightness more so then for glare. I think that the gloss really does enhance the screen in an ambient environment. I have not tried it in sunlight or in an office setting, but would suspect that the gloss would not dramatically effect usabability.

The heat! At 10% load i was averaging about 45 degrees and up to 50% load i averaged around 60 degrees. I havent pushed the limit, but its at around 34% right now and is displaying 69 degrees. Although that may sound hot, its a bit less than the readings i got on a 17MBP but more importantly, it doesnt really feel NEARLY AS TOASTY as the MBP.

The whine is more or less absent. You can hear it faintly when the magsafe is plugged in, and it disappears once u unplug, but it sounds just like an enhancement of a current noise inside.. You have to get so close to hear it that it is near silent. The fans are even louder and so in my opinion, it is definitely good with respect to noise pollution..

The dead pixel. What sucks is I got a dead pixel right in the middle of the screen :(. It is a dark colour (not stuck on a colour or shining white) and is annoying but some times hard to spot. I can live with it but don't know if i should have to. I received the last MB in the store, and the box was damaged. I was assured that it was ok and if there was a problem just to bring it back and I would get a new one when it came in. I'm honestly at a point where I a content to finally get an intel apple notebook that doesnt burn me or annoy the **** out of me with the whine so I think i will live with it.

This thing is sexy! However, my girlfriend made an effort to point out its very "cute" and other women have said the same thing. I dont care, I will defend my white MB, i dont think it's feminine but i think the white will really pick of the female customers...

so yea, thats my MB in a nutshell... hope i shed some insight. Has anyone else experience a dead pixel?

well so far i have tried to get it to come back to life by using a flashing colour video, but i am going to try over the next few days to gentely rub it and hopefully i can spark something and get it working.

I will think about it.. the thing is i dont have any whine or heat issues and i dont know if it is worth risking that over a single pixel

Woah! Out of nowhere! the whine just began but this out of the power brick.. its loud! much louder than ive heard it before and shares the same issues that the whine from the compter itself typically has. I havent yet updated the firmware ( as we speak) so i cannot say if this is a temp or permanent issue

Looks like you spoke to soon:p Anyway this gives you all the more reason to return it for the distracting dead pixel..

Also is the whine coming just from the PowerBrick and not from the actual MacBook, if so you can get the Power Brick replaced I'm sure...
