Have you been using bootcamp?

Try booting from your install disk into disk utility, and check your hardware

Ok, may this be due to the fact that i downloaded too much stuff yesterday?

Firstly, i had 4.5gb left on my 60gb hardrive, then i left it overnight to download some stuff which was about 6gb+

Since it was bittorrent, i didnt think that i could finish the 6gb files in like 8 hours...

So cold this be due to lack of space and jammed my entire hd?

Btw, is there a way to temporary transfer all my files (some of them are very important) to my external HD?

Cheers

Not sure of the reason, but I have had PowerBooks and iBooks do the same thing, and it has been a faulty/fried logic board in all cases (a total of five).

I just wanted to offer a different explanation, but it may be your HD as well.

In any case, good luck.

Try to always keep at least 8GB of free space on the hard drive. Many file sharing apps assign a certain amount of space at the start of a download, effectively using up the full amount of space form the start. It sounds like yours isn't set to do this because it probably would have given you a warning or not allowed you to save the file. Nevertheless, it's quite possible this entire problem comes down to you not having enough space for the Virtual Memory. That's just a guess. It'll be interesting to hear what the technicians have to say. :)
