I've just received my MBP back from Apple repairs. I turned it on a few times and its worked fine. I just plugged in my ext hd via firewire to clone the drive and again, fine. Drive showed up. I turned to my pc to check a few things and turned back to my MBP to see the screen was blank. I figured the screensaver or something had kicked in. I touched the touchpad, nothing. Hit a few keys, clicked the mouse, nothing. Turned off / on, nothing. It does nothing! Not even the boot up sound. I put the hardware test cd in and again, nothing. I can't even eject it. This is really fustrating. The machine is going back and I'm being refunded so I can buy a C2D so I wanted to get my data off it and wipe the drive. Now it completely doesn't work and I can't get my data. I have a fat32 backup but I wanted a proper OSX formatted cloned drive so when my new machine turns up its easy to get back to work. Gah WTF has happened?!?!

man, that sucks. I'm pretty sure the boys at Apple will be able to get your data off tho. When my mini went in to be swapped out, they put my old HDD in the new chassis - so I kept my install, data etc, but otherwise got a brand new box.

I was going to get a 160gb drive too so ideally I don't want the old drive.

Ok new problem. As I open and close the lid the front power light dims accordingly. What the hell is that about?!
