After a PRAM reset it seemed to be happy again but I'm using that as leverage to get this comp replaced along with my dead superdrive, heat issues, and high pitched whine.

Do I smell a C2D coming? I hope. I've already had to have the HDD replaced in this machine, I mean seriously, after this next repair (if they don't give me a new comp) practically all that will be left is the original case...

my screen did this kind of thing once! i did shutdown and left it for a few mins then it was fine again next time i turned it on.

They will say you have not had enough repairs. I am pretty sure that the replacement standard is 6 repairs. And they would not give you a C2D they still have CD models available in the refurb center which means they have them for replacements.
