my message is sent as group??

hi, i have a repeated problem that happens on very certain contacts:

i choose a contact and send him a message,
(a contact i'm not messaging regularly)
"turns" into a group message and send it to another 2-3 numbers..
(that afterwards i can see added in the contact number)
this can be dangerous and embarrassing..
anyone knows the reason for this?
(perhaps from my recent return to Iphone and updating contacts.. but what to do?)

Are you certain you are only sending it to that one single contact initially (when you are creating a message and can see exactly who you are sending it to at the top)?

i pick a contact, and AFTER sending him the message,
the name of the contact turns to a few phone numbers..
