Hey.

So in the next few days I will be receiving an iPad 16GB WiFi. I will not use 3G that much so I didn't buy the 3G model.

If I ever wanted to use 3G, this was my plan:

-Buy a 3 MiFi Huawei E5830 (£50 I think it is on PAYG?)
-Unlock it (around £10)
-Use my T-Mobile SIM with unlimited internet (£5 per month)

My question is can you use a normal SIM card that has unlimited internet or does it have to be some sort of special SIM card?

Thanks in advance

Don't believe there is any difference in the sims!

Where can I get this t mobile sim? 3 offered me £5 for 1GB on mifi 1 month rolling contract. I don't want a contract data plan.

Well if you get a T-Mobile PAYG SIM you can text T-Mobile and get 1 month unlimited internet for £5 or 6 months unlimited internet for £20.

UPDATE: Or you could take out a 30-day SIM only contract for £10 which includes 100 texts, 100 minutes and a free booster which you could choose unlimited internet. Link

Only problem then is you have to put it in a phone every month to text the number!

Damn :p Oh well. I am going to Belgium in June and I might use this for the bus journey down to Dover. You just pay using your PAYG credit.

Ok I've had a contract phone since I can remember so how does it work again :) pay by card over the phone?

I just read T-Mobile fair use policy and it is 1GB -_- not worth the money. Will probably just buy 7GB for £25 via three (3).

You go to a shop and ask for a top up voucher then key it into your phone by dialling a number like 150 then choosing top up :p

Would be better to just go for threes £5 1GB option for me! Don't think I would use more than that anyway!

I guess yeah. I think for a long trip down to Dover and my friends will probably want to go on the net then I will need 7GB :p
