My mini and lacie won't play together

I have a laCie mini external drive that is made to sit under my mini. It won't mount to my mini any more. I've tried the disk that came with the mini but I can't find where the drivers are in my mini to uninstall the lacie driver and reload a new copy. Can any one help???/

Power off the Lacie, and disconnect it from the USB port. Power off the Mini. Restart the Mini. Log in to your desktop. Reconnect the Lacie and power it back on.

Failing that, try a different USB port, if possible.

i tried that and even changed the chords. I believe its in the driver. I just need to delete the mac driver and install the lacie driver from the disk I got with the lacie.
Where do i go to find, remove, and reinstall???/

Honestly, I doubt it's a driver issue. I've actually never heard of a 'driver' for HDDs. Your Mini should read any drive connected to it.

Have you tried to see if you can 'see' it using Disk Utility?

Just cause an Apple store sells Lacie hardware doesn't mean it's worth while to buy...

I've had nothing but headaches with them, and they eventually fail..
Have no clue what brand drives they use in them, but they must be dirt cheap.. crapola
Not like they have raid...or hot swap.... data protection..etc..

So I had my lacie.. just sitting off.. for a while.. had put everything on it that I wanted kept safe from the computer. One day wanted to put more stuff on, plugged it in.. the mac didn't find it. the blue light was on.. sounded like it was on.. nothing for hours. Thought I might need a driver.. no.. reboots... nothing, disk utility nothing..

just my 2cents.... not like I can help with your problem..

bought a synology.. raid 10 setup.. have had 1 drive fail all my data was fully protected, I was happy as a clam... pulled old one out.. popped in another drive and let it add itself to the volume and all my data was put back from the 3 other drives.. all my data was accessible from the setup even without the messed up drive.

not so when my lacie died..lost everything on it.. lucky I had made a dvd of the most important stuff

All hard drives fail eventually, regardless of manufacturer.

Yeah but I had used it less than 5 hours total(over many months) was powered off and just sat. Just a headache, I'll never buy a Lacie again<period>

Or a Seagate. Or a Hitachi. Or a Western Digital.
They all fail at some point, some with in 5 days, some within 5 years, some within 5...well you get my point.

My brother-in-law has a Lacie drive I bought him 2 years ago, which is used daily for video editing files. Hasn't skipped a beat.
