iPod My music has become other files?

Hey guys,

I have a friend's iPod here and I plugged it into my computer to charge it. It asked if I wanted to sync my photo library and I said no. When the iPod was charged I ejected and unplugged it to find that there was no music, videos or photos on the iPod! There is 7.87 GB of 'Other' on the iPod though. I'm not positive, but I believe there was about 1,200 songs so that's roughly 5 gigs of music. There was a few TV shows and other movies, easily another few gigs. I believe that all of the media on the iPod has become Other files

Is there any way to fix this? I know you guys will probably say have the other person restore and resync their iPod with their library. Well, my friend's music is all on their iPod and CD's and not their hard drive in her computer. I will feel like a really bad person if I just deleted all of her media haha. Any help? Hmm... with all those gigabytes of "other" files, I'm going to take a guess and say that iTunes took the information off the iPod, but the songs remain. Maybe.

You'll probably need to use a program like Senuti, or view the invisible files on the iPod to see if the music is actually still there, just not visible.

Otherwise, yes, have your friend connect the iPod back to his/her computer. I don't think an actual "restore" would be necessary though -- just a regular sync.
