Hi!

I know threads boosting some amateurs new app is irritating and often a waste of space. Well, I also thought so until I made my own. Hey, what should one do in order to get through?

Anyway, my app is about making decisions, sometimes you need help with them.

- Who should mow the lawn?
- Who get to use the car?
- Who should pay for the pizza?
- Who is going to get that last piece of cake?
- What shall we have for dinner?

Short Straw will help you decide and you will find it here:
https://itunes.apple.com/app/short-straw/id867645748?mt=8

Did I mention it is for free? No, well it is. Ok, in some countries there might be an ad, but not an intrusive one. Also, no inApp purchases yet. Not that I am against them, just have not figured out what to charge for, or even how to do it. :)

Thanks for your time! Enjoy!

/ Stefan

Thanks!

Hi all and thank you for all suggestions that has come on via my support mail. Although I have not had time to implement even far from everything suggested. And quite frankly, some suggestions I have not even considered... :) I have done some things that I agree should have been there from the beginning.

Now it has a 'Quick Draw' where you just have to type in names and then get the drawn done, so much easier to get going for just draws that you do once.

Also, for participants that you want to save, I have made the dialogs much simpler and harmonized with the event creation/managing.

Please try out the new version, and keep the suggestion coming.

Swedish

Hi!

I have now released version 1.4.0 of Short Straw. Unless you found the Swedish Chef very entertaining and would like to try talking like him (the app now also comes in Swedish) you do not find that much new stuff in this version. It has a lot of internal changes, but on the outside all you can see is the Swedish and some statistics on the information page.

But still, it is for free, so why not check it out? https://itunes.apple.com/app/id867645748?mt=8

2.0.0 released

Hi!

I have just released version 2.0.0 of Short Straw. So, if it such a big release that it was named 2.0.0, what is new you say! Actually, if you are using an iPhone and not speak Mexican, then not much actually.

The big thing with this version is that it now comes in an iPad version. Beside that I also added Mexican and introduced a lot of fixes and small enhancements that you probably will not notice.

Anyway, it is still for free, so why not check it out? https://itunes.apple.com/app/id867645748?mt=8

@TWO2SEVEN
Ah, of course, my sloppy mistake.
It already existed in Spanish, with a few tweaks it now also comes in the Mexican Spanish version.

Hope you enjoy the app, regardless of language.

Sometimes you are just having to much fun. Actually so fun that you forget to eat. Not to mention, taking time to decide what to eat.

With the newly released version 2.2.0 of ‪Short Straw‬ you now get help with both things. As before, making selections for both fun and boring things are made easy with this app. Now, Short Straw can also remind you to actually make the selection.

Try it out, it is for free.

I fully understand that the Notification request that appears the first time one starts the new version is irritating.
I can however assure you that the only time Notifications are used are when you, yourself add a reminder side the app.

In next version I will try to move this request to when you for the first time set a reminder.

Talking about next version, it will take a while. I need some vacation and I think I also will wait for iOS9 to be released. I will then probably also remove the support for iOS7, so if you still use iOS7 see to it that you download the app before next update.

Election times and a great opportunity to use my app. No, of course not to decide who to vote for, that is something that needs an informed decision. However, to choose between all possible snacks for the election debates, that is where my app comes in...

You can find it here:

Coming up to Christmas. Have you decided what to get granny? Or who should put the star at the top of the christmas tree?

You can let Short Straw help you with those decisions.

Now a new minor release has appeared in the app store. Version 2.3.1 fixes an issue that could cause the app to crash when adding a contact without an image from you contacts.

You can find it here:

IT'S FUN :D

Hi Yptcn!

Great that you like it. Hope you get many decisions made. :)

We use it at my work in order to decide who should get the Friday doughnuts.

Any ideas for improvements? Do not hesitate to send them to the email mentioned on the information tab in the app.

Are you one of the lucky ones with an iPhone 6s? If so, download the latest version (2.4.0) and you will be able to use shortcuts from the home screen in order to quickly start draws. Set this up via the Info page.

If you do not have an iPhone 6s, you can still benefit from some smaller bug fixes included in this release.

As before, free of charge.

You can find it here: https://itunes.apple.com/app/id867645748?mt=8
