My New C2D MBP and some problems

I recently purchased a 2.33 GHz C2D MBP and I love it. But, there are two tiny problems with it:
1. The screen doesn't latch perfectly and the left side of the screen doesn't come all the way down and can move a bit. I remember others were complaining about this for a long time with different computers. Is there anything that can be done about this? Will Apple do anything to help me? I don't mind it too much at all, but if addressable, then why not correct it.
2. My numlock/F6 key isn't placed correctly and protrudes a bit--it's a bit higher than the rest and can move a bit in place. This is a bit annoying. Is all I need to do take it out and push it back in? If so, what is the best way to remove it without hurting the keyboard? Otherwise, what's the deal?

Oh, also, I was wondering: is there a way to have away with the tear away tabs in Safari and have a scrollable tab bar (a la Firefox)? I really really can't stand that. If there isn't a way, I guess I'll just use Firefox.

Also, my CD drive makes funny clicky sounds. Does anyone else have that. It's getting annoying. I love the machine, but I still expect more.

I'm not whining about my computer at all. I love it. I just have some questions about if and how certain things are common and/or addressable.

Since you are talking with yourself on this thread, I would chime in. If those problems are bugging you, I would like to suggest you would take it to the Apple store and have them fix those issues (or call Applecare if there is no Apple store close by).
I don't understand what you are saying about Safari. Can you elaborate a little more?

Take it to the Apple store and get it fixed.

Why, on such trivial things?

Because:

1. You paid good money for a premium product. This is clearly not to spec. If it was a $349 Linux laptop from Walmart, you'd probably would be being unreasonably demanding because you are clearly buying a cheap, low end computer.. But this is a Pro computer at a premium price. Demand qualty.

2. We all benefit when you do this. It is a growing concensus that Apple and/or its manufacturing partners is getting lax on quality and lots of corners are being cut.

If we remain demanding customers, and most importantly, if these shortcuts starts costing Apple serious money on repairs and returns, then Apple will start taking quality seriously upfront again.

I hope Apple learned a serious lesson with the MacBook launch. And I hope the crappy screens cause a ton of returns and repairs. Then and only then will Apple fix the problem. Clearly, Steve is not using a regular build Mac.

I am a fan of Apple and a shareholder. It pains me to want high cost returns to hit the company.

But I think it is in their interest long term.

So, back to you. You're unhappy. You obviously got a computer with a bad build--it doesn't matter how minor. Take it to an Apple store and get it fixed.

You deserve nothing less for your money.

Safari will do the tab thing when you buy and install OS X 10.5 Leopard next year.
