Hi guys !

I just thought that i would contribute to this forum, and posting a positive review of my iMac, compared to all the other unfortunate ones on this forum.

Went to the town today, to my local Apple Retail Store (Eplehuset, Norway)
talked to a very nice man, and bought a standard off the shelf 27" Quad Core iMac + a 1TB Time Capsule.

He shook my hand, and said "Congratulations on the new iMac!"
i said thanks of course, and i was on my merry way home. The drive took forever, i promise you!

When i finally got home, i set up my mac, and booted it up. And the first thing i noticed, was the low resolution on the mac welcome-movie :p
i even had to change the background image, because of the low res :p

i checked the screen for yellow tinge, nothing. Even went over the computer for dead pixels, and it has none! :) Couldnt be happier really. It's perfect!

Thank you Apple, this was a huge upgrade from my white 2,4ghz macbook '08

Congratulations!

Mine is supposed to arrive on Thursday or Friday. I hope that I will as happy as you.;)

Congrats.

I got a perfect iMac as well. re: mid-2010 21.5" with 3.2 GHz. As witnessed from both of us, there is "perfect" iMacs on the shelves. Glad both of us got the `good package` (sort of speaking). :)

.

Yeah, it's just really awesome, i couldnt really be any happier :)
I ran crysis via bootcamp earlier, and i've tried starcraft in mac os as well, and it runs really well! Even in native res with high graphics.

I got my new 2010 27" iMac i5 Quad Core on Thursday and I absolutely love it! These are amazing machines aren't they? :D

They are indeed incredible machines, its so blazing fast!
I hope it stays this way for a while, i simply love it!

The MB 13" screen was always so damn crammed with so many programs running at the same time. Now i can actually see my desktop image once in a while !

I think the issues with these computers are majorly overhyped. My buddy just bought the exact same computer as me, and he has no issues either.
Simply loving our machines, thats for sure !

Yay for positivity! Congrats on the purchase, enjoy it!

When I played with it in the Apple store, it was beautiful.

It will be perfect until you notice the glowing black screen on the bottom right corner.

huh? what are you talking about? uneven backlighting? My mac is even. I've ran every kind of test i could find on the internet, cause i HATE inperfections. And i do not seem to find anything wrong with mine.

Wow then I am speechless that they sent me a replacement that has the same problem.

So in a room with all lights off, with all black on your display you don't get a glow of light at the bottom right corner? This is really great for you. I still can't understand why I send away a new iMac only to get a replacement that has the same problem.

Congrats, Hallstein. Enjoy your new iMac. And don't listen to the negative comments. If you're happy, that's what counts.

And CountlovE, IPS displays often have subtle backlight bleed along the edges. Unless you're buying a $2000 Eizo, you wont find one that doesn't.

There is nothing subtle about the backlight glow. The left corner is subtle, the right side is not. Even without black you can notice any image being washed out. There is nothing negative about my comments, I am curious to know if Apple keeps sending me a bad batch. You shouldn't see glow when looking strait on at the display. If I am at any other angle that would be fine, but not strait forward. I can only thing that when the make a BTO iMac, they are disrupting the screen more.

Mine is here also.

Mine arrived yesterday and I had a significant scare as I picked it up. When I started to move the box I heard the sickening sound of broken glass. I was sure the face of the monitor had been broken. Now what do I do UPS will take forever to replace it. Oh whoa is me, sadness abounds.

That's the bad news now the good news. It seems that there was a bag of dissicant inside the shipping container. The bag broke and spilled several hundred little BBs all over the inside of the box. Move it a little and kershuck the sound of broken glass.

My Imac is perfect as far as I can tell, hooray. My unit is an I7 SSD model and does it ever fly. 17 seconds from the push of the on button to full running status and ready to go. It would be even faster if I didn't have to type in my password.

I put my media files and bulk stuff on the second HD and programs and things that need speed on the SSD. I still have 10 GB free on the SSD.

Looks like this is going to be a real winner.
