I have just opened my new 24" iMac for my christmas.

I have noticed on the screen a black mark around 5mm long.It is not physically on the glass itself as i have cleaned and cleaned and have felt absolutely nothing.

It is not a dead pixel as I have taken a screen-shot and it does not show up.

I am wondering if it is possible that something like a hair could have got stuck in between the glass and the LCD panel.

Is there anything I can do to fix this, or can Apple do anything about this.

Thanks

You can remove the front plastic screen protector easily - using a couple of "sucker" pads (I used a couple from windscreen mount phone holders) and pull towards you

The plastic front is only held on by (strong) magnets

You can then give it a good clean

you mean the glass thing that covers the actual LCD panel?

Even if it was a dead pixel it would not show up in a screenshot. Since it's new I would take it back to the apple store instead of taking off the glass screen cover.

Terrible idea. That's Apple's job, not the customer's.

Take the machine back.
