Anyhow I picked this up yesterday after it was released in the US. I got it an an AT&T store, but I think Google is selling them and other places will get them soon. So far I really like it. It looks like a regular watch, but that is what I wanted. Well built and has an excellent screen. A little expensive, but prices are likely to drop on these devices over time.

I saw one of these the other day when I bought my Gear S. I was surprised that it's a tiny bit larger in diameter than the Moto 360, I thought it would be smaller. That with the stupid divers fake band that isn't functional and the very cheap feeling leather (pleather?) band turned me off.

I don't know I sort of like the fake divers design, but understand it isn't for everyone. The band is stamped genuine leather and feels fine to me. It is a standard size band so you can put any band you want on it. Anyhow I guess I like it and that's all that matters.

Looks nice! I saw them at the store when I looked for my Gear S but didn't know much about them. I like the look in this pic http://cdn.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/nexus2cee_LG-G-Watch-R-1.jpg

My real desire was for a stand alone device so I didn't pay it much mind. However, that said, I'm glad to see the market for these products growing.

I know for me even connected via BT around the house is nice as I can get text messages without having to go find my phone in the other room.

The BT connected device is fine for me since one of the reasons I wanted it is because I am a teacher and I can't really be checking my phone while I am teaching. Now with this I can just put my phone in my desk or pocket and not need to look at it all day. Also this does have something like 4 GB of on board storage so you can download music onto it and then use BT headphones without needing your phone connected.

Just a quick update for anyone interested in this watch...

First of all battery life is very good in my opinion. Today I took it off the charger at 7 AM and at almost 9 PM it was still at 73%. Now I didn't use it real hard, but I did check notifications all day, checked the calendar app, used the calculator a couple times and probably did half a dozen voice searches. I am also running the constant clock display on.

I have used the Bluetooth music streaming to Moto BT Stereo headset and it works well, however it is hard on battery life. The on-board Google Wear Music app could use some work, but then again there is only so much you can do on a watch screen. Hopefully more apps for Google Wear will be developed, but the calendar one I found works well with my Outlook calendar and I found a handy calculator. Google Now seems to know when it's time for me to go home because distance home pops up about the time I'm done with work. A little creepy.:)

I know some have said the leather band seems stiff, but it has already softened up quite a bit and fits pretty nice. I also have a Seiko Coutura Kinetic and the LG isn't a whole lot larger to wear so I'm happy with the size. Yes it's a masculine looking watch and probably won't find a home on many women's wrists, but I certainly like the design. Also the minute markings on the case look nice as long as your using an analog display for the clock. I agree with others they do look a bit out of place with a digital time display.

Anyhow that is just a quick review. I'm happy to say I do not have buyers remorse and am enjoying the watch.

How is swiping notifications with the bezel?

Works great. I haven't really even thought about it. I guess my finger sort of just slides up and off when I flick them off the screen. The round screen does cut a few things off here and there before you scroll up, but it hasn't created an issue and looks fine.
