I have just started using my first ever Mac after a lifetime of using Windows! Just thought I would share my first thoughts on my new MacBook :D

Firstly, what a delight to actually be excited about opening a new purchase, turning it on and going through the setup. And also I was impressed at how fast I was up and running. Just a quick setup and I was done - and I can only see the things I actually asked for! No crap 30 day trials of some photo app which I never intend to buy. This was a big factor in me buying a Mac - I like how integrated it feels. I always get a nagging feeling with Windows that things are conflicting and nothing quite works 'perfect'. The manual makes perfect sense and has been written in an order that you want to see when setting the MacBook up for the first time.

Only problem I have had so far is finding my way round the keyboard, and trying to guess what all the shortcuts are, but I'm following the lessons on here so that should be no problem!

Next tasks are plugging in my hard drive (shared between a Windows laptop and this MacBook so we'll see what happens there), getting my music into iTunes and then installing Office once I buy it.

All in all very impressed and looking forward to throwing a few tasks at it to see how it handles things.

Just a suggestion: you might want to give iWork '08 a try before investing in Office. I too bought office for my mac and hardly use it. Keynote works beautifully and Pages is easy. I haven't tried the new iWork yet but I'm sure that it will be more than what you need.
