Hello Everyone,

I am waiting for the opportunity to get a new phone for some years now with the firm goal of buying one by end of this year, possibly even earlier as my old 3GS' battery is a nightmare to deal with.

My main requirements are as much memory as possible (knowing I had 32GB in 2009 I expect something better of course), huge battery and large screen (All new flagships being 5"+ this last point is pretty much meaningless).

I can think about these phones, in no particular order :

- IP6+ (128GB) : too pricey
- Note 4 (32GB + SD) : I was very interested in buying edge type up to when I ve learnt it will not be available in EU (or not before 2015) and price tag as high as IP6+, regular version at 750EUR does not sound cheap either
- LG G3 (32GB + SD) : already "old", price should decrease by end of year
- HTC M8 : bad experience with HTC in the past, dont intend to go back
- Moto X2 : no SD slot and 32GB is pure joke
- Shamu / Nexus 6 : why not if a 64 GB version is part of the deal but I doubt we will get any SD slot
- One+1 (64GB) : i could get an invite, is it worth the trouble?

I want to deal sim free and have a budget of 500 EUR in mind. I was secretly hoping Note 4 would be my next one but adding a 128GB micro SD on top makes it way out of my budget. It seems LG G3 is my only choice, hoping for cash back and end of year rebates.
I would be curious to know whether some of you end up following the same reasoning and see other scenarios.

The Note 4 seems to be pretty awesome based on what we've seen so far. We'll need to wait for all the reviews to know for sure though. Touchwiz is just, well Touchwiz and kind of a selling point for me unless you plan on rooting.

HTC One M8 and LG G3 are both great, very debatable on which one's better because they both have great features.

OnePlus One is pretty awesome too for the price but the Nexus 6 might be better if it doesn't have a ridiculous 5.9" screen that's rumored. Time will tell with this.

Those are my opinions!

If you can be patient, wait and see what gets announced in the coming months. If you can't wait, OnePlus One for the win.

I'll have to do some research on the OnePlus One. I just ordered an HTC One M8 from T-Mobile. The battery life is supposed to be great and it looks like it'll work best for my needs. If not, I'll exchange it for the Note 4 or the iPhone 6. Not many phones catch my attention as much.

I have to vote for a 6+ 64GB if that is an option, that's what I intend on soon to replace my 2 year old Nexus 4.

The Note 4 is the nearest you can get to a pocket laptop with it's multi-windows and S-pen acting like a mouse and it's file handling.

Samsung has needed to add it's own software to handle the extra features and improvements to Android such as Restart rather than just Close.

I would say the note4. It is the only one with a stylus that allows you to extend beyond what you are doing with a phone.

If you like beauty above all else then you can consider iphone. Personally I find iphone is just inferior in terms of hardware specs and OS like the pathetic 1gb ram and missing things like ir port and sd card slot and better screen and camera.

Not this pile of drivel again.

That reasoning is a big reason why I don't think the iphone could ever make me tempted to the leave the note line. There simply isn't enough worthy to what the note brings.

Had a look at the plus in store and after 5 mins of use I was running out of things to look for. Way too thin too. I can totally see why it would bend for some people. Way too long and thin for me.

Given that your budget is 500 EUR including a 128 gb memory card, it looks like you're limited to the 1+One or possibly the Nexus 6. An alternative solution might actually be a Note 3. Sure it came out last year, but it's still a very competent phone and neither the screen resolution or performance should leave you wanting.

It really annoys me that some mid-to-high end phones are still being sold with only 16gb internal storage.

I'd throw the z3 into the mix (amazing battery), but frustratingly you can only get it with 16gb internal storage (at least in the uk)

How much more would it add to the manufacturing cost of the phone if they just used 32gb instead of 16gb?

Thank you for your message.
As far as I remember, One+1 has no sd slot, I dont expect Nexus 6 to have one either.
You have a point with Note 3, pity brand new phones are just crazy expensive!
