My old jailbreak is STILL haunting me.

So a long time ago I jailbroke my 3g. Used it for a while, including changing the name from AT&T to my name and having wifi signal as numbers instead. Well I got sick of the lag and restored it back to normal. My 3g still had my name for the carrier and wifi numbers but I just ignored it. Now my brand new 3gs is doing the same thing (restore from backup) and it's particularly annoying, especially if I have to return to the apple store for whatever reason. I know that if I restore as a new phone it will be gone, but I do not want to type in my 200+ contacts and redownload all my apps. Is there any other way to deal with this? Thank you ahead of time for any responses.

copy your contacts to your address book. Then restore your phone, it will put your contacts back in.
