I love my apple tv, but the one thing that I just can not stand is how if you purchase something on your apple tv, say like yesterday, and the next day or whatever you go to your computer and check for available downloads. Now you have a new download to get, cool. Now you wait the 10-30min for whatever to download, and then you click sync apple tv so you can watch the new show. And here comes what i dont like. You have to wait for the show you bought on the ATV to sync to your computer before it will let you sync your new program.

I think that they should change it to where it sync's new stuff to the ATV before syncing the already watched stuff from the ATV to the computer.

So yeah, it just happened to me again while i was trying to watch the new family guy so i got upset (again) and had to post about it. Is there any reason they have it set up this way?

I'm not following you here.

If you buy something on the ATV, you should be able to watch it as soon as the buffer fills (instantaneous if you have fast internet, 5-10 minutes or so with DSL). You do not need the computer involved at all until you sync to backup the purchase back to your library...

I think that the OP is complaining that the new content on his computer is being synced to the AppleTV after the older content is being synced from his AppleTV to his computer. He wants it the other way around so that he can start watching the new content on the AppleTV sooner.

Is this correct?

Yes exactly correct. i hate having to wait for new content while the old content is copying from the ATV to the laptop. I have it set to where i watch all my stuff just through streaming video so a sync to the ATV takes about 10 secs, unless i have to sync from the ATV to the laptop for the already viewed content.

been pretty good about syncing right after an ATV purchase, but forgot today. Now I have a new sons of anarchy episode that I have to wait to watch because ATV has to sync back to iTunes BEFORE iTunes can sync to ATV.

There has to be a way to stop this...so annoying

That's what I do! Heck, when I buy a movie on my ATV it usually notifies me that I can watch it whenever I want just a minute or two later.
