My PC crashed and now my Mac is here to save the day.

U heard right. Now, this topic isn't really about Windows running on a Mac but it does involve a PC hard drive being backed up onto my Mac. Problem is when I try to transfer all my PC files onto an image on the Mac, I keep getting these "cannot continue copying because the file "" already exists" or something like that. Is there another way of backing up this hard drive? Drag and drop doesn't seem to work.

what kind of files are we talking here?
applications?
microsoft word?
etc?

Mostly talkin about My Documents. Problem is I think I have to be logged in to Windows in order to see anything in that folder. I look in My Documents and there's nothing in there. I guess Windows encrypts everything in that folder and doesn't allow anybody else to look into it unless that user is logged in. Just a guess.

The usual place for documents is "c:\documents and settings\username\My documents", have you looked there?

You actually have to work at it on Windows to have your docs protected in the way you describe, by default they are world readable.

Is your drive NTFS or FAT32? How is it connected to the Mac?

yeah like u said i ended up lookin at the wrong folder. how silly of me to think windows would do such a secure thing. please forgive me.
