Air Pods/Air Pods 2 - These always worked well for me. They stay in my ear pretty well unless I try to shake them out purposely. Sounds good, not great, works with all apple products and many non Apple products - this shape should remain indefiniteluy

AirPods Pro - To me, the silicon tips in the ear canal bother me, and they tend to become less effective over time - i.e. the AirPods fall out easily after an hour of use. They produce the best sound quality when using noise cancellation, but I have these and only rarely use them

AirPod 3 - Only have had them for a few days - they feel pretty secure in my ear, but I think I noticed them becoming less secure during a workout this AM. Much more comfortable than AirPods Pro, similar in comfort to AirPods 2. The sound, including spacial audio, seems much better (I had to check a few times to make sure my iPhone was just just playing stereo music instead of it actually being in the AirPods - music seemed loud and immersive)

Overall, if AirPods 3 work for your ear, they are a big improvement. Right now, I believe they do, but I acknowledge that AirPods 2 are an even better fit. I am not sure if it is possible to put the AirPods 3 improvements into the AirPods 2 frame, but I would prefer if they did. I am keeping these AirPods 3, and retaining AirPods 2 as a backup,

Great review. I really hope they update the original airpod design with the latest tech.

Will the Apple Store allow you try on AP3? I have 2s and they are okay but not the greatest fit for my ears. I was hoping the 3s would provide a boost in audio and fit...

I had all 4. The latest is what I prefer. Keeps getting better. I like using the AP3 than the APP for now. Hopefully, I'll get back to APP2 with noise cancellation.

I've had the AP2 and now have the AP3 - the fit of the 3s are much better IMHO!

From the way that the stem is shorter and fits perfectly in that crevasse in your ear (when said stem is angled 45 degrees forwards) to the size of the 'bud' itself (its bigger so sits with a tighter fit in the ear).

:)

I have exactly the same experience with the AirPod 3 - I have to check the music isn't coming out the phone sometimes despite the headphones being active. I think these headphones are top drawer. They never fall out my ear even when leaning my head 90 degrees and shaking it up and down.

Well worth the money.

The way they interface with a Macbook Pro & iPhone X is seamless too (beautiful). The auto-detection is on point even when auto-selecting the correct device when I have both in front of me.

Thank god there is an alternative to the horrendous Bluetooth experience after all these years.

I only have one pair which is the Airpods 3. Very useful and fits my ears, no worries of them falling out because I've done heavy HIIT and cardio workouts with them.
