I always keep my phone in silent mode. I have not changed that. Yesterday, it started behaving like it wasn't in silent mode. Texts and calls ring. I went into settings, and silent mode was on. I restarted the phone, and it was off. I turned it on, and it's still behaving like it's off. Has anyone experienced this?

on the 15, you don't have to go into settings, there's a new silent mode control in control center, its where screen mirroring used to be, next to rotation lock between the wireless setting box and focus control.

If you action button is set to silent mode, it's really really easy to accidentally turn it on or off and and unless you're looking at the screen, there's not much to announce that it has changed modes.
Especially since you say you never turn it off, I'd change the action button to something else to prevent yourself from doing that.

I've had the same issue for a while and it's very intermittent, I haven't managed to figure out what triggers it. Suspect it's a bug related to when they made the mute switch a software thing in the 15 series. I had this issue on my 14 Pro and upgraded to the 15 Pro hoping it wouldn't happen but it still does.
