My Photo Stream and IOS 10

I have both iPhone 6s Plus and iPad Air on 9.02 only my IPad is JB. I would like to update my iPhone to IOS 10 an leave my iPad the way it is on 9.02

I use the my photo stream instead of the iCloud Photo Library. iOS 10 gets rid of my photo stream so how will I be able to use the my photo stream on my iPad? I have other I devices like 4s. If I update to 10 how will the photo stream across all of them if my iPhone won't have that option when I take a photo.
