My plan to sell 3G, get prepped for iphone 4. plausible?

hey guys,
I've been with my iphone 3G since august they came out,
so this august i'll be ready to upgrade to the new iPhone in June/July

I did just buy an iPad, so I want to be a little smart here with this upgrade and save as much money as I can,

so I've been thinking of selling my iPhone 3G unlocked on ebay, and net around 300.


so, for a month in between (may) my selling the 3G and june when hopefully the iphone 4 comes out, would i be able to just pick up some cheapo At&T phone?

i mean i'd still be paying my contract and all, but what can i do in the month in between?

i just want to be able to put the money i get from the 3G to pay off the phone cost of iphone 4,
but im unsure of what happens contract wise/picking up a cheap phone in between

anyone done something like this before?

Yes just use a cheap flip phone if u have any old spare ones or maybe borrow one.

ive had my 3gs since the week it came out and somehow i can upgrade but thats a different thread. so what i usually do is as soon as i know when the next iphone will be out i make a deal with a local and sell it to them (its worked since i had my first and my 3g iphone) the reason y it works is because we usually know before the regular public because we watch the keynotes and we get whiff of things because of sites like mac rumors. lets just hope it will work this year last year i got 200$ for my 3g and i was grateful that i got that much so we will wait and see

also my iphone now has 4.0 beta on it and from what ive herd it is jail-breakable so that mite help
