my post majove iMacc plan for 32 bit apps

got my old 2009 iMac knocking around after getting this 2017 here's the plan its going to be a legacy machine to maintain 32 bit app compatibility. I dual boot majove right now but who wants to do that for ever lol keeping a Mac on majove or farther back seems like a good way to not loose compatibility honestly probably will just throw high Sierra back on there and call it a day

I still have MANY 32 bit apps I use every day, with no 64 bit "replacements" that are going to be available.
So... my "plan" is to just keep using Mojave (on this 2018 Mini) -- forever.

Upgrades?
Let someone else do them.
I'm "staying put" for the foreseeable future.

Similar situation. Trying to ween myself off of them a little at a time, but I find that even some 64 bit apps like crossover and even Waves for instance, still has bits of 32 bit stuff. It is hard to keep track.

Well, I can verify that CrossOver runs okay in Catalina, but if you use it to run a 32 bit Windows program, it won't launch the program. According to the developers of CrossOver, they're currently working on a WINE wrapper that will be able to run Windows 32 programs from CrossOver. We shall see....

Because of APFS Snapshots, not dual-booting anything other than my old G4 — I don’t boot that even once a year anymore.

I have one 32 bit pro app left where the developer has promised an upgrade and hasn’t yet delivered. Not important enough to my work to wait if it isn’t ready.

FileMaker is the only major app I’ve not upgraded. For the amount I use it, I may switch to something else rather than upgrade 3 seats. I just have to figure out what and spend the time to port my database over. Upgrading to a recent version has its issues, too. Like Jack Benny, “I’m thinking.”

I have a few 24” & 27” iMacs kicking around so a legacy machine isn’t an issue ... except where to put it. That’s a problem.
