Hi all

Got my replacement iMac today after one month waiting and waiting. A bit disappointed that it has a small dent on the side of my iMac (like a mouse has bitten my iMac or maybe it is actually the mouse in the house).

Apart from that I am quite happy with my iMac, and I don't bare to ask Apple to get me a new machine because of the dents !!!

Also the screen is awesome, a bit easy to get dirty but I guess I just have to clean it more often.

Advised: Do not let children nearby your iMac, all the folder names are changed to something human being would not understand :D

Have a nice iMac day

Why'd you need a replacement? As for the dent, I wouldn't just take that for a second. Send it back immediately! For the bucks you're spending on that machine, it better be perfect. It would drive me nuts to look at a dent on that sweet enclosure (unless I put it there, then I'd just have to keep kicking myself) Good Luck

Well you should not have to tolerate dents in a brand new Mac. Of course, it is up to you whether the hassles of returning it for another are worth that.

I'll tell you, I had the same thing with my new TV. Two tiny little dents in the side of the casing. It bothered me for about 10 minutes, and really don't even know that they are there unless I walk right up to 5" away from them and try to find them. In other words, you get over it quickly. Since I they faded from memory quickly, and I couldn't even see them unless up close, I decided it wasn't worth the hassle. Of course, if you can see them plainly during normal use, that might be a different story, but I gather that is not an issue per your description.

DOA so I got my iMac replaced, but the dents are tiny but just noticeable. I will try to ask them to get it replaced again maybe :(

ehh, mine came with a tiny dent as well. i never even considered sending it back. i'm very happy with my screen - no dead pixels and although it isn't completely uniform (i've never seen an LCD that large to be completely uniform), it does not display the more extreme gradient issues others have reported. so for me, a great screen more than makes up for the tiny dent. some people on here have gone through five plus returns just to get a decent screen.
i'd say if everything is working perfectly and you've got a good screen, don't sweat the tiny dent.
