Being the noob that I am, I updated to the 3.1 version for my Iphone 3G, so it's now locked

Doing my research I was able to downgrade back to the 3.01 and JB with redsn0w running with the 3.0.

I learned that the baseband was also updated to the 05.11.07, I then tried to downgrade that with Fuzzyband. This was all made extremely difficult because my WiFi doesn't work, so I had to use Disk Aid. I was able to install the .app into the correct folder, but soon learned that I couldn't (777) it through diskaid. I tried using Iphone Tunnel and other SSH programs, but I ran into complications that wouldn't work or they require an IP address I'm unable to acquire because I have no wifi. Then I found out that Fuzzyband wouldn't work anyways because I identified my bootloader as 5.09.

I guess I'm kind of effed, unless anyone has any solutions for my many complications:

Is there a way to fix my wifi?
Is there a way to SSH without wifi on my phone (a program, a way to use terminal)?
I guess I have myself a nice 16gb 3g Itouch until there's a way to unlock the 3G iphone without wifi, running 3.1 with the 05.11.07 baseband.

If there's any chance you see an update on a new unlock with my current specs/predicament, could you send the link my way?

Specs:
Laptop: Mac
Iphone 3g
Version: 3.1
Baseband: 05.11.07
Bootloader: 5.09
NO WiFi

Thanks a lot for all your help and bearing with me,
-kien

How did your wifi break?

Have you tried restoring your phone as a new device? You've already lost the baseband anyways so it can't hurt.

No wifi doesn't matter. Click on the airport icon and click create network, and then connect your iPhone to that, and then you can SSH. :D

... How does he connect his phone to the airport network without wifi...

I'm pretty sure he's saying that the Wifi on his phone doesn't work.

Maybe I'm wrong. :p

Also, the program iFile in cydia lets you change permissions from the device itself. Just change them to read-execute for all the users. :D

BINGO! My wifi in my phone doesn't work.
How do I access iFile? Everytime I try to access Cydia, it closes a second later, I'm guessing due to its inability to access wifi internet access.

Also, I'm not sure how it broke. It was working for a good period of time, then it just stopped. I did some research and it seems to be a big problem for many 3G users running versions 3.xx

I'll try the full restore again and post how it goes. I'm hoping this new unlock comes soon :(

Cydia can work over Edge/3G as well. Do you have MobileTerimal installed?

I don't have 3G/Edge because I'm with T-mobile, and my phone is currently locked.

Will MobileTerminal be accessible without any internet?

No. If you have MobileTerminal you could manually install programs after putting them on your phone from your computer... But you can't install that really either because Cydia doesn't work.

But... If you don't have Edge/3G/Wifi you have no way of downloading any applications anyways.
