SO, after waiting 46 hours to get activated because of oversight on ATT's side, I've finally gotten to use the iphone for a few days now. Now, this morning when i try to type anything on my keyboard, the bottom of the screen doesnt work. If i hit the space bar, it registers a key stroke from the line of keys above it. Same goes for all keys on the bottom line of the keyboard. Called Apple, cant do anything for me. Told me to do a hard restart, then reset to factory settings. Problem remains. SO, it looks like its officially broken and has to be sent back. Worst experience I've ever had with a phone. Or any electronic device for that matter. Wonderful.

iPhone's are like any other manufactured items - there's a certain percentage with defects, and you got one of them.

Yes, it sucks.

Get another one and move on. :)

Went to the 5th ave apple store, waited 30 mins for a 'genius' to see me. They played with the phone for a while and eventually decided I'd need a replacement. It took them no less than an hour to figure out how to get my phone activated through itunes. Ended up spending almost 2.5 hours in the store. Pretty much crazy. It seems like even Apple doesnt exactly know how to deal with the phone. I was late to my 4th of july party.. really not loving either att or apple at the moment. I have a new iphone now but I'm not holding my breath to see if this one can actually work for more than 2 days. Whining with good reason. bleh.

Mine started doing this today. On top of that, my battery indicator won't fully charge and my usage data has never been filled. I think I'm going to the store tomorrow. I didn't pay $600 for this.

Anyone else having problems with the bottom line of the vertical keyboard (like in Safari, Mail, Settings->Mail->Edit Account)? Is it fixable by means other than going to the store?

Got a replacement today. Keyboard is working. Not sure about the battery yet. The guy at the Genius Bar insisted that the sure way to charge it is with the phone off (hold top-right button, slide red slider).

In all honesty, now that ive had the time with it and i can sit back and appreciate it for what it is.. i really dont think its worth all i went through frustration/cost wise. Its a neat phone, but its not worth switching my carrier and dealing with all the hardware and customer support issues that I've had. Somewhat disappointing :/
