so i picked up 10.5 ipp lte 256gb silver and when its put in a portrait mode, home button to my right, seems like my screen goes from blue to pink..more cool tone to warmer tone. now i cant unsee it! everything else seems to be perfect other than that. im afraid if i exchange it i might get something else thats wrong. surely happened to me before. anyone else have any problem like this?

Welcome to the famous Apple screen lottery. Sometimes yur lucky but most times you ain't. Just like a slot machine, only you can decide if you want to keep pulling the lever.
Since it appears to be an issue of a screen that is not uniformly lit, it might not make a difference, but I would try to toggle off True Tone. If it annoys you, just replace it, it's too expensive to live with this problem.
Same boat. It's more noticeable when night shift is on, but there's a shadowy yellow tint right along the bottom bezel where the home button resides for me. Idk if it's worth the headache of returning. Unfortunately, as soon as I noticed it days ago, I've been unable to unsee it.
