So after spending a year and a half trying to get a defect-free macbook pro, and finally getting one three weeks ago, I've encountered my first problem with it. ****. The internal display panel seems to be loose. Every time I close the display there's a crackling sound and I can feel the internals flexing if I put my hand on the outside of the screen bezel. If I push down on the bezel when it's half-way closed, the internal panel (and I don't know what it looks like) flexes and makes a flexing/crackling noise too. It doesn't make as much noise, and sometimes no noise at all, when the display is wide open and I press on the back.
Obviously this is not the end of the world, but it seems to be getting worse and I know that eventually I need to take it in.What I'm wondering is: can they open the bezel and fix it, or will they have to replace the entire bezel, including LCD, with a new one. I've been very happy with this screen and I'm incredibly afraid of getting a new display.
Short honeymoon - almost a month! Wow.
