Looks good to me....

If you're going to be burning many discs, then that drive is for you. Otherwise, I haven't had any problems with the internal burner.

Monitor and mouse look good. Especially with NewEgg, the reviews should somewhat influence your decisions. But from what you listed, everything looks nice!

iirc the v270 is their only bluetooth mouse. And it's ****ing awesome. I have 2 and recommend them to everyone who needs a laptop mouse. Perfect size, good design, bluetooth is awesome because you dont need seperate usb receiver, batteries last a solid 2-3 months, and it even comes with a little case.
 
thanx for the feedback, im goin for the external DVD burner to save $200, i dont see the need to burn on the road, if so i could just bring the burner as well!

it doesnt have any extra buttons..i had it before and had little range and the battries cover always slide out and it has LOTS of problems on my friend's mac in bootcamp..and plus bluetooth mouses NEVER had as good signal and speed as the wireless radio ones. =)
 
Unless you really need to get a portable machine, I'd go for the iMac. My main machine is a MacBook Pro (next thing down is MacBook and G3 iMac), and believe me, laptops will never replace desktops.

I can't wait until I get a desktop machine, as laptops are just a nightmare to live with...

a laptop is much more convenient than desktop to use...you can take it anywhere..you are not forced to sit on your chair all the time to use it..even if your not taking it out the home..its still more comfortable to use i think.

I couldn't agree with you more. All of this talk about laptops taking over desktops (although they have and will continue to eat up desktop sales). I personally would much prefer working at a desk with a full size keyboard and nice big monitor (maybe even two!). When I graduate from college I will be going back to a desktop as my primary computer.

thats why i want the monitor, mouse, etc. so that at home it is a desktop
 
Like others have said, it looks like a good set up. I would look into other mice, I do like logitech so your on the right path. I would not get the RAM upgrade from Apple, you can save some cash by getting it somewhere else. I would also suggest an external HD if your going to be working the DVDs you will fill up fast, even it you are just doing rip & burn.
 
yea im gettin the ram from OCW, and i have a Maxtor 160 GB external with all my photos, videos, files, etc. just waiting to be transfered to a new comp
 
You should just get the internal DVD+/-RW. The extra money is worth the convenience of not having to plug something in all the time... especially if you are on the road.

just my opinion.

don't forget, handy during the frequent power outages here in floriduh. i don't know how much work i would have lost if i had an imac instead of a macbook due to the very annoying and unpredictable nature of power surges around here. the notebook makes me a bit more comfy knowing that my computer won't go off because of a surge, and if it does go off, i do know.

in fact, anyone coming to floiriduh should get a notebook, no questions asked. otherwise, alot of work will start going bye bye as mines does.
