And I don't do anything. Once in a while I'll plug in my speakers and I notice the right speaker is louder and I go and change it in preferences. Why does this happen? Is there a keyboard shortcut I'm pressin that I don't know?

Hmm maybe I should've posted this in the audio forum or sumthin...

I did this a while ago, and went crazy. I couldn't figure out what was going on.

System Preferences > Sound > Output > Balance. :)

Yea I know how to fix it :) I just don't know why it happens. First few times I thought it was my speakers.

Some G4 computers have a known bug where if you adjust the volume using the keyboard faster than the on-screen volume display can keep up, the balance shifts.

G5s too, its a software issue thats been around for ages that comes and goes. used to be a script called "balanced" around on the web that could fix it but i can't seem to find it as of right now, if i find the link i'll post it though.
