My standby time rises while using my IPhone 6S Plus.

Hey all,

Just got a new IPhone 6S Plus on Saturday. Noticed in Battery in Settings my Standby time rises while I'm actually using the phone. Is it a software bug or is the phone defective? I'm running 9.2 if it's any consolation.

Just got a new IPhone 6S Plus on Saturday. Noticed in Battery in Settings my Standby time rises while I'm actually using the phone. Is it a software bug or is the phone defective? I'm running 9.2 if it's any consolation.

Standby time counts the complete time that the device has been using its battery rather than just meaning the time the device has been locked. Usage time however counts the time the device is actually being used including listening to music while locked.

Nothing to worry about, unless the Usage and Standby times are the same.

Did that change? Last I remember standby only rose when the screen was off and the phone was actually in standby. Sorry for being paranoid lol.

I believe it was always that way, or at the very least for quite a few years now.
