Are those the education iMacs?

What happens to the "old" iBooks?

Nope they are stock 17 inch Intel iMacs with 1 gig of RAM.

The old laptops get sent out as well, we just need to know which is which so I put old by them.

Oh, so they are not going back - you are keeping all of them.

/sarcasm?

What would I do with 74 iBooks?

I'm serious - I have no idea how the education program works - I didn't know if Apple had a trade in program or what - I guess I wondered why all the eMacs were piled up, too. What do you do when you replace them?

The laptops are part of our 1to1 program which is going into its second year.

The old laptops are going to one grade, the new laptops are going to another grade.

The old ones have smaller HDs so we need to make sure we know what is what, as they each have a different build on them.

The emacs are all imaged and waiting to be picked up as an education initiative is taking them off our hands (this is so joyous as I fracking hate lugging those around).

I work for the school board, but not at a school. So these computers are getting sent around the province.

Sounds good, you don't mind the dirty ones do you?

I've been having a hard time finding someone to take them off my hands. ;)

why couldn't they have a mac program when I was in high school.

There will be people on MR reading that and thinking...

why couldn't they have had Macs when I was in high school.

What are those Dell boxes doing in the background of one of those photos:mad: :p :D

We have like 4 PCs total in this office, those were the boxes for the two new ones we bought last year.

Which hardly got used.

And that's how we like it here.

:D

Gosh, I still love the design of the eMac. It truly took what was great about the G3 iMac and refined it into something magnificent. Sure, it's a beast to lug around, but it's a pretty beast.

It shall be missed. :(

And you're one lucky bird, when I first started at my job we were just auctioning off the last Power Mac G4 in the building.

My high school used Macs. In fact, many schools have now adopted macs for their compact all in one design. And many more adopt a new baby Mac daily. I am done with the shameless promo.

If you're trying to get rid of an ibook I may be interested in buying, tell me your price.
