So about two weeks ago I recieved a replacement for my MBP which had been repaired twice for noise-related problems (first time processor whine, logic board replaced, second time screen whine, plus massive scratches left by apple durring first repair). the fans had started to make awful buzzing sounds all the time, and so a nice guy at apple agreed to give me a brand new machine with a bumped processor (2.0 to 2.16) for free. (Same specs for the rest). Well today I went to burn the pictures from my sister's Bat Mitzvah onto a CD so that my mom and grandma could have copies. Imagine my suprise when my CD drive spins up to a deafening tone, akin to a chainsaw, rattling my entire desk, and then freezes my computer. Three times in a row. And when it starts back up, OS X can't recognize the disk until I re-insert it. I love OS X, and I love the speed and useability (as well as asthetic) of my computer, but this is something of a final straw. I'm not sure what to do; I'm taking it in to the store in a few hours, but I was wondering if there was any test I could perform to figure out exactly what is wrong. Any ideas?
