It's been failing steadily over the last five months. On my fourth one now (the other three crapped out suddenly since getting a 650 the first week of release), this one has been losing its backspace key, the ability to charge on both (Palm-branded) chargers, and in the last couple days, reboots every time I select email.

It's refused to sync in over a year with Windows or Mac, and will randomly suck the battery dry when it's bored. Case screws mysteriously unscrew themselves and fall out when I open the battery case. It buzzes text alerts from nowhere, and taunts me with three bars, yet refuses to connect.

It's turning into a Stephen King novel while I watch.

It knows it's getting replaced by an iPhone next month. I think it wants to kill me.

i think our treo's are related, though yours is devolving into demonic behavior more quickly than mine. i'm so tempted to burn it at the stake (literally) when i get my iphone. and then do a little "i hate treos" gloating dance around it afterward.

are you as disappointed as i am with palm with the unreliability of the treo? they've been making them for years now and they still can't get them right. every time i think of their engineering department, that commercial where that one guy works with a bunch of monkeys comes to mind. but at palm, there are just monkeys. :D

My sister & I used to have book barbecues, reserved for those truly awful tomes that we would encounter from time to time. Maybe we should host a Treo BBQ for similar reasons...

I think I'm more than disappointed; I was as much a Palm fanboy as there could be. I feel like they just lost their soul or something with all the spinoffs and remergers and rebrandings going on.

Oh, and after all night on the charger, the friggin' thing was bone dead. Apparently, I didn't position the Palm charger just so overnight...

Well mine is merely making me psychotic. I was offered a deal to connect my AT&T business phone/internet to a Cingular/AT&T wireless account and I jumped at it. The only reason I still have the darned Treo is that I don't have the iPhone yet.

$175 is not too much to ask to change to a phone that actually can stay connected to the system, much less my bluetooth headset for more than 5 minutes. The first call I plan to make on my iPhone is to call Verizon and wish them and their creepy group of stalkers a not so fond fairwell.
