My video plays on 2 of my 3 AppleTV

Hello folks,

I have an issue on my AppleTV.
I have 3 AppleTV at home and I can watch one of my videos on 2 of them.
I have done a reset on the one thats not working but it still not playing.

Any guess of what is happening ?
THe video is a H.264 + AC3 Audio + Subtitle

1. What type of ATV's are they? Are they all the same?
2. Is the video purchased or self encoded?
3. Is the video encoded using the ATV2 profile and is the ATV it wont play on an ATV1?

We need a bit more information, we're not mind readers

Answering:

1. All of them are ATV2
2. Self encoded
3. The video stream is using Main @ 3.1 --> Recommended for AppleTV

How are the ATV's connected to your network? eg wired or wireless? Is the ATV that wont play the file connected in a different way to the others?

If the file plays on 2 ATV's but not a 3rd then it's not going to be the file that's the problem. Have you tired doing a full restore of the offending ATV?

Is the ATV that wont play the file jailbroken?

All of them are wired connected.
I haven't done the restore yet due the Apple servers errors.
None of them are jailbroken.

Can you explain what this means? Sorry if I'm being thick, but I've never noticed this setting in Handbrake.

Try ruling out "everything else" by swapping positions between one that works and this one that doesn't. That will rule out all kinds of little possibilities in cabling, some kind of local interference, ventilation issues, etc. For example, if you have one located in a bedroom that is playing the file just fine and one located in the living room that is not, switch their locations and try again. Only switch the boxes themselves- leave all cable connections where they are.

My guess is heavily leaning to a restore needed but this will rule out weird possibilities.

Also, does the one not playing the one video play other videos just fine? Is it otherwise working just fine with all other videos, media?
