i've been noticing that a lot of mac publications have started paying attention to security, though I'm not entirely impressed with some of the suggestions that they've come up with.

Anyone else have any thoughts? I mean really, some of these authors just have no clue. It totally shows.

I do NOT think the issue you discussed in your blog is a security problem at all. Every linux distro does the same thing.

The most dangerous thing about OSX security situation, IMHO is

vast majority OSX users' blind confidence in safety+apple's inability to write secure codes+expanding market share of OSX+ windows version of safari

Right, but you're not seeing any articles talking about that! There's this one loon who suggests that you only join WPA encrypted public wireless for your protection. Hello? Did anyone stop and think about that one?

well. morons are everywhere, even in many reputable websites. I don't know what we can do other than trying to cover ourselves and wait for a big problem or apple's awaken, whichever comes first...:)
