im on safari right now and i cant get to myspace

all my other websites that i try to go to work.

anyone one else having this problem at all, or does anyone know why this might be happening to me

my other friends all can get on it right now

If you can't get it with nslookup, then it's likely that your ISP's DNS entry for it is screwy, or it simply cannot resolve it properly. What can you do about this? Wait it out..

Use traceroute then.. maybe one of the routers between you and myspace is offline/offinlalaland.

I apologize in advance if I'm telling you something that you already know, but yellow described the problem in a nutshell: one of the routers between you and myspace is offline or otherwise out of commission.

It looks like the traceroute from your location (somewhere on the USC campus?) gets hung up at the router at IP address 4.78.195.186, wherever that is. If you're normally able to connect from the location you're trying to connect from today, it's probably just a temporary glitch: either too much network congestion, or maybe a server's offline somewhere, something like that. If the problem persists, check with your ISP to see if they can track it down more authoritatively.

P.S. Nothing is wrong with your computer, or your local network connection, or with the MySpace site. It's sorta like a section of the road between your town and the town you're trying to get to is closed, or at least experiencing a several traffic jam.

It could be down/rebooting, it could be dead, it could be ignoring you. If you have friends at USC that CAN get into myspace, and the hop after #9 happens to be myspace.com, then I would think that myspace.com has blocked you for some reason.

Yeah. When I do a tracert to www.myspace.com from here (in Huntsville, Alabama), the next stop after 4.78.195.186 is in fact one of the MySpace servers (and there's no appreciable delay for that hop).

Whoa....some one using myspace here on macrumors.... scary, i avoided it for as long as i could, but my kids pulled me in. I have succumbed to the evil allure of myspace. Incidentally, myspace tends to be a bit fickle now matter what browser you have, sometimes it just refuses to play nice. and now for a shameless plug...

I've looked at myspace.com ONCE, and only to laugh at a MR member (not you, brideau). Now that I've peeked back in, I see this dude Tom appears to be everyone's friend. Wow. I jsut can't understand these kinda places. I guess I got all that out my system years ago..

tom is the guy that started the site. he is your friend auto when you join it.

i only use it to talk to my friends out of state and what not and to get info from people on hardcore shows and new cd leaks. plus ive met people on there that ive seen at shows and what not and now were friends. yea some people use it for all the wrong reasons like dating haha
