MySQL recovery after an Archived Install of OS X

Hey all,
I installed OS X with an archive install but forgot about taking MySQL backups (figures). I then had to install MySQL again and now always get a socket error and it advised me to upgrade. Now I can't really uninstall MySQL so I can't do a really clean install.
In this process I completely forgot about the existing databases and now I really really need to get them back. I've searched in the Previous Systems folders but there's no evidence of MySQL there.

I seriously need help guys :(
