Several days ago, I started getting a strange alert on my iPhone 14 when I opened it each day. I’m reluctant to do anything because I use Tax Cut to prepare my taxes each year. I don’t want to lose my tax files and I also don’t want to expose my tax info to malware crooks. Anyone ever see this on their phone?

I use Turbotax on my Macbook Pro so I haven't seen it, however I can see (by checking that URL with https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html#hostname=version.taxcut.com that version.taxcut.com does indeed have an invalid certificate.

My suggestion would be to contact tech support for that software and tell them what is happening.

In the meantime, you may be able to stop it from popping up by going to Settings, then General, then Background App Refresh and turning it off for their app.
