Mysterious app crashes?

I downloaded the OSX quake III demo, and when I run it it crashes and doesn't even start. I have a TIbook 667 with 512mb ram and panther. I don't get this because I've run QIII on a B&W g3 and sawtooth g4 without crashing. Could this be a video issue?

EDIT: I've tried running it in all video modes and it still crashes.

Doubt it's a video issue, try deleting the preferences file, repairing permissions and starting again. You might just have a corrupted download so you could try downloading it again if all else fails.
