I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max on iOS 14.2. Yesterday and today, I heard a few notification sounds. But when I checked each time, there were no messages: no banners or badges. Nothing showed up in the Notification Center.

At first, I thought I misheard the sound. But after a few times, I became more sure there was an issue.

Anyone observing the same issue?

I am also getting notification sounds that I cannot attribute to any app

Additionally, no badge icons are showing when I do receive actual notifications from an app - for example, when I get a DM on Twitter I get a banner notification and sound but there is no badge icon on the Twitter app (I have the badge turned on - I have turned it on and off, turned notifications for Twitter on and off and even restarted my phone - still no badge icons on any app)

I think I might be experiencing this too. My watch will ding like I got a message but there’s nothing there! I thought I was imagining it at first but it’s happened a few times now and I know I’m not crazy!

Is there any mail account you might have turned off notifications from?
This is happening to me. I would get a new
email sound, but no visual notification, and go to check my email, but there wasnt a new message. Figured out later on, I was getting new emails to a secondary email account and my iPad would play a sound, but not show any indication that there was a new message.

This happened to me too! and thought I was going crazy! I heard the fb messenger noise but no message a couple of times and I’ve heard the default text noise which isn’t my text sound mine is popcorn but no notification . It started after the 14 update for me. did it just go away ?

Get this occasionally.
Wonder why this happens?

It wasn't until I moved from the 8 to the 12-mini that I started hearing a (seemingly) random '4-beep' . . . . it wasn't until I actually had myRadar open in-use that I came to realise that this was the "light rain starting in 15 minutes" notification from the app.

This one confused me a lot longer than the new red/green dot on the screen for mic/cam usage ;)

I have very few apps installed.

Other than that, the only other noti-note I consciously know I get is the periscope/submarine(?) note when an email is received.

Did you get this solved? What sound were you hearing?
