Hi everyone! Long time since I've been on here, had a Macpro 1,1 which I was upgrading to the max just for the fun of it and unfortunately the power supply went. (Was quite the show blue flash and smoke!) Anyway was not really looking for a new one but just browsing eBay and happened across somebody that didn't know anything about Macs. Starting bid was $49.99 with 2hr left, put in a bid thinking I would not win it but I did! (Just mainly looking for something to play around with And browsing) I have absolutely no specs on it other than it looks like it is running snow leopard. Tag is hard to make out in the back but if it looks like I think it does it's a 3,1 8CX? (8 Core) What's your guy's opinion? Even if it's a 1,1 Quad I would say it's still worth it for that price especially with the original keyboard and mouse. What do you guys think it is won't know the RAM and hard drive or even SSD Tell I get it need to say more pretty excited as it is a complete mystery and if it is an 8-core I think I did good at $49 2008 or not :)

I think you just bought a Mac Pro 8 core 3.0, which is known as a Mac Pro 2,1. It came with a 7300GT card. If it was a 2008 Mac Pro, it should come with a Radeon 2600 XT card, but then who knows what you're gonna get. Life is like a box of chocolates. :)

I guess that's the surprise of it a mystery Mac!. would be fine with me as my intention was to install 10.10 Yoshimate on the 1,1 got it installed and it booted just was needing to upgrade the video card then the power supply went coput. So this is essentially a Mac pro 1,1 just the top of the line model for that time (if it's a 2,1):) so if it does end up being that I'll still be able to continue with my plans only double the CPU cores.

Hopefully better luck with this one.
