ny somewhere
am sure i'm missing something obvious/simple.

when i open the music app, or spotify, on my imac, i see the icon below (it pops up as soon as i hit play, stays until i quit the app).

on my macbook (same OS), that icon does NOT show up (with Music, or spotify). where does it come from?

if it's that obvious, i will hold me head in shame for the rest of this year...

This is the Now Playing icon. Check your Dock & Menu Bar settings in System Preferences. It can be enabled/disabled there, or you can also drag the Now Playing section in the Control Center to the menu bar.

not as cool as something like smashtunes, which can show artist/song title in the menubar, but... mystery solved! thanks much 👍
