Finally got MyWi to download in Cydia but when I try to create a password for it in settings, it just crashes. I have the iPhone 5 on Verizon and I do currently have their tethering plan on my account (still on unlimited data).

I tried rebooting to no avail. Didn't really want to reinstall the app since it took so long to get it the first time. Has anyone else gotten it to work with the same setup? Going to try Tetherme but can't get it to download at all from Cydia.

Same for me here on AT&T. I submitted my log to the developers. I mainly use USB, but I occasionally use wifi. Shouldn't take them a while as they usually come out with updates every so often

Fwiw

I have the same issue on my work iPhone 5, but my personal iPhone 4 does not have the issue. I'm very much looking forward to this being fixed. I can't change the SSID either. I'm very happy that it does work with no security, and looking forward to the patches to correct the outstanding issues that I assume they had very limited opportunities to plan/test for. Found this by googling just to verify it wasn't just me.

I was finally able to get Tetherme to download and it is working great! Bye bye MyWi.

Workaround - sorta

Yeah the app crashes when you enter name or password. I turned down the transmit power in Advanced Wifi. You could also use a VPN on your iPad while using your phone not unlike public wifi hotspot. I wouldn't do it at an Airport but it's always better than nothing. You can always keep an eye on the "connected users" at the bottom too.
That's actually pretty "glass half full" from a cynical ****** huh?

I'm wondering if att will be able to see if you're tethering through LTE data.

Same issues with me. Can't change the password on i5 VZW. Everything else seems to work. I emailed Intelliborn to see if there's a fix coming.

After submitting my log to the developers, I got this email just now:

Hi xxxx,

We are aware of this issue and our development team is working on this right now. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you for your interest in Intelliborn,

Jackie Cross

Can tetherme tether LTE/4G? And only the Bluetooth connection method works for me, WiFi broadcasting doesn't.

Good one, Intelliborn. Like your customers don't feel screwed over enough.

I was going to pay the upgrade fee, but not anymore.

Hello tetherme.

Just got a reply from Intelliborn. They're aware of the issue and are working on a fix. So good news.

Finally, they fixed it. Able to update now, but I wouldn't be surprise if there are 20 more bugs hidden in this app. For something that cost $20 it shouldn't be so damn buggy. Stop releasing buggy software! It hurts your brand. I rather wait than use something that's half baked.

I hear you there! Since the updates, scrolling has been garbage for me. Takes me a couple tries, or more sometimes, to even scroll up and down the app when it's open. The text also gets jarbled when rotating my phone. Ugh. Tempted to now give tetherme a try.

How funny.

I've used MyWi now for nearly 4 years and have never had a problem with it, and that being from using iOS 3.1.3 on my iPhone 3G straight up to the 4S that I am on now. So I'm honestly shaking my head at those who are saying that it is buggy or who complained so quickly without giving them time to put out an update. Talk about "it's all about me" or being impatient.

But I digress. I heard through the grapevine that TetherMe was priced at $.99, so I was tempted to grab both. Seeing that it is $5 and it costs the same for the MyWi upgrade, I'll give the latter a try and report back. If it is indeed bad (though my experience tells me otherwise), I'll report back and eat the slice of humble pie I left in the fridge.

BL.
