I downloaded MyWi and RockApp. Got tethering to work. Deleted them through SSH. The problem is that they still show up in my list of packages in Cydia on my phone. Is this common? I just don't want to get charged/have tethering break down when I actually need it.

Anybody? Now it's telling me to upgrade both rock app and mywi.

So you really don't have a MyWi tethering problem (your title is misleading). You have a question regarding your uninstall and if you will be hosed in the future. You no longer have the programs on your phone, so there is nothing that can be done by Rock to stop the use of your tethering functionality. Some day in the future if you decide you need Rock for some other reason, the trial may catch up with you.

Happy tethering! Ignore the upgrade requests, and make sure you've truly SSH'd them completely.

Thanks. Is there anywhere I need to go other than var/stash/applications to delete? I've perused other location but haven't seen any other references to either application.

This would be good for others to know as well. Any help out there?
