Hi All, first timer here!

i have just got atv3 as a gift, i got a iphone 3gs,mbp lion, ipad 1st gen
i know about JB and stuff, however the ATV3 is not JB yet.

My question, what can i do with ATV, since im in UAE, no hulu/netflix,
i have lots of videos/tv shows/movies that i use Airvideo to stream to my ipad. i know you can do wonders with it if a JB was available. but what can i do with it as is with stock firmware.

i didnt even unwrap it, coz if it is gonna be useless, might as well sell it to someone.

Appreciate your help.

For me personally, the ATV has always been a device to allow me to stream all the media I've converted from my own library to a large screen device in my living room (without needing a separate computer connected to the TV). I never use Netflix for streaming, or really any other options built into the ATV at all, but I am complete satisfied with the device based my needs and usage (so much so I have 3 scattered around my house).

With Mountain Lion you'll be able to wirelessly mirror your mac computer's screen on the ATV, allowing you to ultimately play any video file type that the mac can handle on your actual TV.

All in all, I can't say this will offer you anything new that you don't already have, other than mirroring the mac on your TV. Beyond that, you'll have to determine if any of these other options are interesting enough for you to tear that little box open and have a go with it. Good luck!
