N00b - T-mobile... data... QQQ's????

Ok I am a total iPhone noob. I am locked into T-mobile for another year, so if I buy a new 1.1.1 iPhone for x-mass, are there still programs that will unlock it safely? I mean the worst I can do is have to restore it - right?

I know there is a new jailbreak for the 1.1.1 but what about unlocking? Also once its unlocked and I put my sim card from my RAZOR into the iPhone will I be able to do all the web surfing stuff without a data plan? Can I do some if I am at a place that has free wireless? Or do I need to get one? What kind of data?

you can do websurfing for free if u are connected to the wifi network

if u want to do websurfing from anywhere in the USA you can either get the $20 data plan from T-Mobile or get the $6 T-Zones plan and do the T-Zone hack

Although i am not sure the T-Zone hack will work on the 1.1.1 iPHone

T Zone hack works, but you will not be able to search in youtube + use IM with edge..
